THE STORY OF MY LIFE
WINNING BY LOSING
I grew up surrounded by my older cousins and brother. They shaped me through collaboration and competition. They taught me how to play, showed me how to fight. They never made winning easy but always made trying my duty.

DESIGNER EYES
My father is a graphic designer. Watching him design had a satisfaction to it. Logos, posters, packaging, you name it. I would sit beside him and comment: "You should move this... There’s too much space over here... It needs more contrast." He admits, he learned to take me seriously. My gut feeling carried truths.

STARTED WITH WHY
I was the kid that drove people crazy by never getting tired of the question “Why?”. My mother however, the patient scientist she is, recognized the value of asking. She would walk me through the answers, as far as she could. I loved it. However, I never was satisfied enough to stop asking "Why?"

JUST DID IT
I’ve tried about every sport growing up. Skateboarding and American football stuck. One is you against the concrete, the other is you with your teammates. Both can hit hard, yet both can flow effortlessly. Together they taught me resilience, collaboration and self-expression.
WANTREPRENEUR
Once I was freed of the shackles of a 13 year long mandatory education, I felt the need to create freely in this world. I became an entrepreneur. Together with a teammate I ran an American football themed fashion brand. Branding, marketing, planning, producing, selling, collaborating, and many other steps were part of running this business. While we had no idea of what we were doing, we started with a small box of T-shirts and ended with a familiar following of American football fans in Germany.

GREAT MINDS FILM ALIKE
Parallel to my entrepreneurial efforts, I found a great connection to create and express with. My school friend and to-become-cameraman and I created a series of fun film projects. I had so many ideas and he had a camera. Creative concepting, storytelling and film production were on the task list.
IDEA MACHINE
I realized, everything I was doing started with ideation. Hence, anything I would ever do must start with ideation. Luckily I found the Hamburg School of Ideas. Intense days of school and 12 months of advertising agency experience made me a master in creative brain-farting, concepting and copywriting.

AROUND THE WORLD
My urge of freedom, experience and expression pulled me out into the world. By now I’ve lived in 6 countries, made friends, built networks, been hired, worked freelance, used my brain, used my hands, worked alone, worked in teams, worked with customers and with clients. I've worked across fields; gastronomy, creative industry, entertainment and action experiences.

STUDYING CREATIVE BUSINESS
While living in the United States, I became aware of the value a university degree holds, as well as the European privilege of education being affordable. I was drawn to business, but afraid of morphing into a grey-minded, suit-wearing business guy. I am a creative.
The Creative Business Bachelor in the Netherlands hit the sweet spot. A program that combines creativity and business — critically, strategically, and with intention. It's training competences like critical and creative thinking, cultural intelligence, and lifelong learning. Fields like marketing, branding, business innovation, and market research become highly relevant.

I'm Sune Øysten
GEHT NICHT GIBTS NICHT
My name is Sune Øysten. I’m a Creative Strategist fascinated by life, inspired by my grandfather’s mantra: “geht nicht gibt’s nicht" — there is a way, we just have to find it.
I feel Home at the intersection of Creativity and Logic. This two sided sword let's me craft impactful solutions for the future and the presence. Whether it’s pioneering positive change or simply making someone smile, I aim to leave the world a little brighter than how I found it.

grounded in strategy, driven by creativity
As a Copywriter I learned to have Ideas – Lots of them. As many as it takes to have the right one. I also learned to capture those Ideas in clean, compelling copy.
As a Creative Business student, I’m trained to approach challenges through research, analysis, and creative strategy. I learn to understand people, markets, and cultural contexts; turn insights into direction; and build solutions that can survive the real world.
The focus is on ideas that work — for people, for business, and for the world around us.
It’s problem-solving, grounded in strategy, driven by creativity.
